The Top Five Cruise Movies

There are numerous movies that take place during cruises these days, everything from the ridiculous to the mundane. Who is to say which are the best? Well the following recommendations are based on critical review of the top five movies about cruise ships of all time.
1.) The best movie recommendation goes to The Titanic. Made in 1997 and starring Leonard DiCaprio, the special effects make you feel as if you are really on the ship. The sub plot may be a little predictable, and you may already know the ending, but the Titanic remains the greatest cruise ship movie ever made.
2.) Second on the list is An Affair To Remember. This movie was made in 1957 but remains one of the all time classics. It stars Deborah Kerr and Cary Grant who meet and fall in love while on an ocean liner while on the Riviera, across the ocean, and all over New York.
3.) Third on the list is the movie The Poseidon Adventure. Made in 1972 it remains a classic. This movie is the first of the great disaster movies of the 1970s. Many say it set the standard for Titanic in the 1990s. It features mindless entertainment and superb sets that are upside down. It stars Shelly Winters, Ernest Borgine, Roddy McDowell, and Gene Hackman.
4.) Fourth on the list the 1960 movie The Last Voyage. It stars Dorothy Malone and Robert Stack and is the story of a sinking cruise liner other than the Titanic. It is very intense and gripping. The producers actually sank a real ship to make the movie realistic.
5.) Last, but certainly not least, is the movie A Night To Remember. Made in 1957. Starring Will Ferrell, Chris Kattan, Molly Shannon, Loni Anderson, and Dan Hedaya, it is another movie about the last night of the Titanic. Although it was filmed over 40 years ago, its realism is impressive.
It would appear that regardless whether you take expensive cruises or cheap cruises, all cruise ships are subject to sinking.
